HSE Approved First Aid at Work Training for the Construction Industry

DURATION 3 days (By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days)
LOCATION Lowestoft

A full Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Aims

First Aid at Work training designed to meet the specific needs and dangers of the construction industry. All training is approved by
the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) for funding purposes.

Course Content

Theory and practical sessions will include:-
First Aid Priorities Spinal Trauma
Managing Incidents Burns and Scalds
Basic Life Support Heart Attacks
Examination of a Casualty Eye Injuries
Unconsciousness Dressings
Control of Bleeding Regulations
Fractures Recording and Reporting
Common Illnesses First Aid Kits
Students are independently examined on the final afternoon of the course.

 

Certification

Upon successful completion certification is valid for three years.

First Aid at Work Refresher Course

Before expiry a re-qualification course will need to be undertaken. Ample written notice can be provided to employers, informing
them of when an employee's certification is due for renewal. This course takes place over two days.
